How Bill Skarsgard Became the Face of Kojima's Physint

Bill Skarsgard will lead Hideo Kojima's espionage project Physint, and the director has explained how the casting came together.

Bill Skarsgard will lead Hideo Kojima's next espionage project, Physint, and the director has explained how the casting came together. On his Koji10 radio programme, Kojima said the introduction came through composer Yoann Lemoine, better known as Woodkid, who had worked on Death Stranding 2. Skarsgard visited the musician's studio, spotted a pile of Kojima Productions merchandise and asked about it, which eventually led to the two men being put in touch. Kojima later travelled to Sweden to meet the actor and his family, and pitched him the part.

Skarsgard, already a fan of the Metal Gear series, accepted the lead role in what Kojima has described as a spiritual successor to that franchise. Kojima said the actor has been scanned for the part, a step taken early because the data processing is slow, while performance capture lies much further out. Skarsgard is reportedly pressing for the script so he can begin preparing, though Kojima has only the plot settled. His chemistry with co-star Charlee Fraser was another factor in the decision, with the pair having been tested on camera together.
