Titanfall 2 VR Mod Brings the Shooter to Headsets
A free conversion by the modder CircuitLord adds head tracking, weapon aiming and manual reloading to the fast-paced shooter's single-player campaign.
Titanfall 2 is playable in virtual reality thanks to a free conversion mod from the creator CircuitLord. The mod adds head tracking, weapon aiming, mech weapon controls and manual reloading across the game's entire weapon roster. It is distributed through CircuitLord's own mod installer, and the base game is currently on sale at an 85 per cent discount. For now the mod covers only the single-player campaign, and the creator has been asked whether multiplayer or other additions might follow.
Titanfall 2 has long been known for its fast movement, from wall running and double jumps to slides and grappling hooks, and all of that speed carries straight into VR. The mod includes a snap turning option, but the sheer amount of motion means it is still likely to be uncomfortable for many players. Those who can handle it have praised how thoroughly the controls have been reworked for headsets, with gesture-based reloading for weapons such as the Wingman a particular highlight. CircuitLord is also developing an original VR game called No Shot.
