Birdseed VR Brings Cozy Birdwatching to SteamVR
The comical bird photography game leaves Quest behind and arrives on Steam on October 8, with cross-play for players on either headset.
Birdseed VR, the comic birdwatching and photography game, arrives on SteamVR on October 8. The Steam release will support cross-play with players on Quest headsets, so owners of either platform can go birdwatching together. In the game, players wander a small forest and photograph deliberately silly birds at their own pace, and it is pitched as a cosy, low-pressure experience. It has been available on Quest 3 and Quest 3S for some time, having left Early Access there in April.
That Early Access graduation added a Scout's Store where players can buy camera skins, lenses and charms, along with improvements to multiplayer and several new birds. The game has built a following as a gentle escape, one that invites players to slow down and enjoy a peaceful slice of nature filled with curious birds. The October 8 date was announced by the developer, Buffalo Buffalo. Whether the SteamVR version ships with everything that is in the Quest build has not been confirmed. Birdseed VR is out now on Quest, with the Steam launch set for next week.
