Old School RuneScape plans Hardcore servers and a new raid

Old School RuneScape laid out a RuneFest slate led by the Fractured Archive raid on October 20, plus Hardcore servers and a Menaphos questline.

Old School RuneScape used RuneFest 2026 to set out a busy slate of proposed additions. The Fractured Archive raid arrives first, on October 20, tasking high-level teams with defending Guthix's collection from thieves, Massively Overpowered reports. Also on the table are Hardcore servers, where a fallen character can either restart from scratch or move to a standard world keeping everything except the items dropped on death. Hardcore worlds would give the punishing mode a permanent home rather than a limited-time event.

Further down the list sit Menaphos the Golden City, which would bring a grandmaster quest, soul rune crafting, a skilling dungeon and a Sailing port, alongside remastered Smithing and Mining lines, a teaser for somewhere called the Tower of Xophros, and November quality-of-life changes. Jagex stressed that most proposals remain subject to player polls, so community votes will decide which of the outlined plans actually go ahead. A survey on the skilling remasters is expected to follow, and raid details are still to come. Jagex showcased one new boss family, the Gemstone Dragons, with the rest still in development.
