Dragonwilds details December Luminance update and 2027 saga
RuneScape: Dragonwilds used RuneFest to outline the Luminance update for December and a two-chapter saga stretching across 2027.
RuneScape: Dragonwilds took its turn at RuneFest 2026 to outline the Luminance update planned for December, giving the multiplayer survival spin-off a slice of a keynote otherwise dominated by the fourth mainline MMORPG and the Reignited character type. Massively Overpowered reports the showcase centred on Luminance and what the update adds to Jagex's survivalbox when it lands later in the year, with the team walking through the new content rather than simply teasing it. The game has been built out in stages since its early access launch.
Beyond December, Jagex sketched a two-chapter saga running through 2027, signalling that Dragonwilds will keep receiving story-driven content long after the Luminance drop. The studio shared the roadmap as part of the wider RuneFest slate that also covered plans for RuneScape and Old School RuneScape. Specific dates for the 2027 chapters have yet to be pinned down, leaving the December update as the near-term milestone for players of the survival title. Jagex has not confirmed whether the 2027 chapters will arrive as free updates or paid expansions.
