Starfield sequel looks unlikely, former designer says
Kurt Kuhlmann doubts Bethesda will return to its sci-fi RPG, saying the original was not successful enough to justify a second one.
Starfield's former systems designer does not expect Bethesda to build a sequel. Kurt Kuhlmann told FRVR, in comments reported by VGC, that he would be very surprised if the studio returned to the game, because the first one was not anywhere near successful enough to earn a Starfield 2.
Bethesda spent eight years on the RPG and has since turned its attention to The Elder Scrolls 6. Official sales figures for Starfield have never been published, which leaves the argument about its performance resting on player counts, review scores and the studio's own silences.
