Star Trek: Voyager Game Adds Free Q Trials Update
Across the Unknown gets a replayable roguelike-style mode overseen by Q, with John de Lancie returning and a deep dive video.
Daedalic Entertainment has released the Q Trials update for Star Trek: Voyager - Across the Unknown as a free addition, accompanied by a developer deep-dive video explaining the new mode. John de Lancie returns as Q, guiding players through increasingly difficult runs across the Delta Quadrant, and the video walks through how the mode's structure and systems fit together. The update is live now.
Q Trials is built around replayability, using procedural events and randomised sector goals so each attempt differs. At the end of a sector, Q offers a choice of three rewards - resources, heroes or technologies - that feed permanent meta progression, so even a failed run advances a player's long-term progress. Wild modifiers change how runs play out, such as doubling crew quarter capacity at the cost of more sickness or boosting morale while slowing construction, and crew assignments can be experimented with, including promoting Harry Kim to Captain. Owners of the Equinox DLC can swap Voyager for that ship. The mode joins the game's existing content for no extra cost.
