Kuhlmann says New Vegas fans shaped Todd Howard's care
The former Elder Scrolls designer suggests the intensity of Fallout: New Vegas loyalists is part of why Bethesda guards its own worlds so closely.
Kurt Kuhlmann, a designer on Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim who later worked on Starfield, offered a theory about how Bethesda's relationship with its audience hardened. Asked about the passion of Fallout: New Vegas diehards, he said he does not know that Todd Howard wanted to create that situation again for The Elder Scrolls.
Kuhlmann left Bethesda after Starfield shipped and now speaks more freely about his old studio. His remark lands in a decade-long argument about which Fallout belongs to which audience, and about how much a vocal fan base shapes the way a studio defends its own series.
