Horror visual novel Shinjuku Anomaly launches September 30
AMATA Games sends players into night-time Shinjuku with a camera, four rules for the job and a warning not to get too close.
Shinjuku Anomaly, a short horror visual novel with multiple endings, arrives on Steam for PC on September 30 at 10:00 JST, publisher AMATA Games has announced. The game hands the player a part-time job photographing anomalies in Shinjuku after dark, and its reveal came with a release-date trailer and a collaboration lyrics video.
The rules of the job set the tone: shoot any anomaly you spot, get close enough for a proper picture, but never step too near, and go home once the film runs out. The store listing presents it as a brief, single-sitting experience, and carries a note that the story is fiction with no connection to real people, incidents or organisations.
