Gears of War story director cut days after gold

Juan Vaca is looking for work after Microsoft's latest Xbox reset, days after Gears of War: E-Day went gold and ahead of its 6 October release.

Gears of War: E-Day is days from release, but its team was not spared Microsoft's latest round of layoffs, described as part of an Xbox reset. The Coalition, the studio behind the series, went unmentioned in Matt Booty's post about continuing that reset.

Story director Juan Vaca said on LinkedIn that he is part of this round and is open to work in games, film or television, asking teams that need a director or storyteller to get in touch. E-Day went gold shortly before the cuts were announced and launches on 6 October.
