Fortnitemares is set to take over the island from October 1, bringing a sizeable mid-season shake-up rather than a full chapter reset. Epic Games has confirmed new Sprites, fresh map locations and a wave of collaborations for this year's Halloween run. Among the additions is Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, a location pulled straight from Five Nights at Freddy's and a crossover many players have requested for years. The update also carries a large batch of shop items and gameplay assets built around the horror theme, touching just about every part of the battle royale rather than a single mode.
The crossover lineup is unusually stacked. A new trailer confirmed Five Nights at Freddy's, Beetlejuice, Freddy Krueger, The Purge and Slender Man, alongside Black Clover and the film Obsession. Epic is likely holding several other reveals back for the weeks ahead, as it has with past events, so the roster may keep growing through October. Fortnite updates tend to follow a predictable maintenance window, and players are already planning around the usual early-morning downtime. Previous Fortnitemares runs have stretched right through Halloween, and this instalment looks set to follow the same pattern.
