Fortnitemares 2026 brings Halloween back to Fortnite
Epic's annual seasonal event adds crossovers with Five Nights at Freddy's, Hazbin Hotel, A Nightmare on Elm Street and more.
Fortnite has started Fortnitemares 2026, its annual Halloween event. The seasonal update brings a batch of horror crossovers to the battle royale, led by Five Nights at Freddy's, Hazbin Hotel and A Nightmare on Elm Street, with more promised alongside them. Epic Games' event marks the return of a fixture that has arrived every autumn in recent years, folding spooky cosmetics, themed content and guest franchises into the game during the run-up to Halloween. The announcement centred on the line-up of properties rather than a full breakdown of every reward.
Fortnitemares slots into Fortnite's wider seasonal rhythm, in which limited-time events sit on top of the regular battle pass rotation. The event leans once again on outside horror names, continuing the title's habit of pulling characters from film, television and other games into its world. Epic did not spell out the event's exact end date, the full set of skins or any tie-in quests in the initial announcement, so players will discover the complete contents as the event unfolds. Fortnite is available on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and other platforms, and the Halloween content is live now.
