First Lego Dragon Ball set pairs Goku with Shenron
The 1,764-piece adult display set shows Shenron rising behind the seven Dragon Balls with a Goku minifig, and arrives worldwide on November 4.
The first Lego Dragon Ball set has been unveiled, and it is a hefty one. Lego Icons Dragon Ball: Shenron and Goku is an adult-oriented display piece built from 1,764 bricks and standing more than 12.5 inches tall. It depicts the dragon rising behind the seven Dragon Balls in the pose he strikes when summoned in the anime. A small Goku minifigure rides the flying cloud, and while the dragon body is static, the head, arms and legs can all be posed. It arrives worldwide on November 4.
Members of the free Lego Insider programme can buy it from November 1, and it will cost 129.99 pounds in the United Kingdom. A senior Lego executive said the partnership with Toei Animation is just the beginning, suggesting more Dragon Ball builds are planned, though the company has not said what those might be. The teaser earlier this month focused on the Dragon Balls themselves, which led many observers to guess correctly that Shenron would feature in the first release.
