Demon's Souls Remake is now fully emulated on PC
The PS5 exclusive Demon's Souls Remake can now be played start to finish on PC via emulation, though performance stays rough on all but the fastest hardware.
The Demon's Souls remake can now be played from beginning to end on PC through emulation, according to footage shared by a YouTuber using the KytyPS5 emulator. The milestone follows months of rapid progress that began after Sony moved to end disc production in July, which kicked off an informal race among teams building PlayStation 5 emulation. A native, console-exclusive title reaching a playable state is a notable step, since it suggests the underlying technology is maturing faster than many observers expected.
Performance remains rough. The demonstration shows choppy frame rates and likely bugs, and the emulator is said to need hardware roughly on the level of an RTX 5090 to run well at all. Even so, advocates argue the groundwork matters: proving that a game unavailable outside Sony's console can run opens a path for other first-party exclusives to follow with fewer headaches. Emulation projects also serve a preservation role, keeping digital-only releases accessible long after storefronts and the hardware they were built for are retired. For now, the project's authors describe the build as a work in progress rather than something ready for everyday use.

Demon's Souls
Demon's Souls is a ground-up remake of the 2009 PlayStation 3 game that started FromSoftware's punishing action-RPG formula. Rebuilt by Bluepoint Games for the PlayStation 5, it sends the player through the fog-shrouded kingdom of Boletaria, fighting through five regions and their bosses while souls earned in combat buy upgrades.
