Dark Souls 2 gets a seamless five-player co-op mod

A modder behind similar projects for Elden Ring and the first Dark Souls has released an alpha build that strips the interruptions out of multiplayer.

A modder known as Yui, who has built comparable projects for Elden Ring and the original Dark Souls, has released Dark Souls 2: Seamless Co-op into alpha. Sessions support up to five other players, and the mod is designed to remove the stopping and starting that has always defined multiplayer in that game.

Fog walls are gone, progression stays in sync, and a death no longer ends the run; a fallen player respawns at their last bonfire instead. The release notes say a full playthrough from tutorial to final boss is now theoretically possible in a single session. Options are reached through items such as Pharros' Heliograph, and a performance bug affecting Intel processors has already been patched.
