Crimson Desert DLC Delayed Two Weeks to October 29
Pearl Abyss pushes Charting the Unknown back from October 15, saying the extra time will deliver a more polished and stable experience.
Pearl Abyss has announced that Charting the Unknown, the first expansion for Crimson Desert, has been delayed by two weeks. The add-on had been set for October 15 but will now launch on October 29. The studio said the extra time is needed so that the expansion launches in a more stable and better polished state. The expansion was only revealed during September's State of Play, so the original date always looked ambitious, and even after the delay it still lands just seven months after Crimson Desert itself released on March 19.
The DLC will expand the game into a new zone and bring sea exploration to its already large open world. It also expands the base-building systems, with the trailer hinting that players will be able to put up entirely new buildings of their own, adding yet more hours to an already enormous game. Charting the Unknown is priced at $24.99 and will be coming to the same three platforms as the base game: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and PC. Reception to Crimson Desert was mixed at launch, but many of its early issues have since been ironed out, turning it into one of the year's breakout hits.
