ARC Raiders Opens A Free Four-Day Trial Next Week
The extraction shooter is free on PC and consoles from 8 to 12 October, during its biggest update yet.
Embark Studios is opening ARC Raiders up at no cost for four days, giving anyone on PlayStation, Xbox or Steam a chance to try the extraction shooter without buying it. The free window runs from 8 October at 4am CDT to 12 October at 3am CDT, and the studio says the whole game is included, with nothing locked, blocked or hidden behind a paywall.
The trial is timed around Frozen Trail, the update the developers describe as the biggest since the game launched, and it arrives after several months in which players had little new content to chew on. Anyone who has not unlocked the new map, Pendola Pass, can still reach it by queueing with a player who has, whether they paid or are playing for free. Progress carries over for players who decide to buy the game at the end of the trial. ARC Raiders has been one of the most played games on Steam for months, and the studio has pointed to the size of that audience as part of the reason the content pipeline slowed down before this update.
