Arc Raiders and The Finals Are Headed to Film and TV
Nexon has teamed up with Chernin Entertainment to turn Embark's two shooters into television and movie projects, though which game lands where is still unclear.
Embark Studios' two shooters are heading off the console and onto a bigger screen. Nexon, the publisher behind both Arc Raiders and The Finals, has struck a deal with Chernin Entertainment to develop television and film projects based on the two properties. Chernin's credits span both formats, from the Backrooms horror films and the recent Planet of the Apes trilogy to series such as New Girl and Fear Street. The pair could not be more different on paper: Arc Raiders drops squads into a post-apocalyptic surface patrolled by towering robot enemies, while The Finals throws players into a virtual combat game show.
Details remain loose on which game lands where, and neither company has committed to splitting one property toward cinema and the other toward television. Embark founder Patrick Soderlund framed the agreement as a way to grow both titles into broader transmedia franchises, with the studio's own creative teams staying closely involved in the process. Chernin president of film David Ready said the worlds offer ambitious global IP with franchise potential. The announcement follows a widening wave of game adaptations, from The Last of Us and Fallout to Arcane and the Super Mario films.
