Aion Reforged relaunches the original MMO on October 20
NCsoft is opening a new auto-hunt server for the core game just as Aion 2 arrives.
NCsoft is preparing a new server called Aion Reforged for October 20, aimed at players of the original MMO rather than the upcoming sequel. The company describes it as an auto-hunt server, meaning characters can keep progressing while the player is away, a format popular in the Korean market and divisive elsewhere.
The relaunch lands in the same month as Aion 2, so the publisher is running the classic game and the sequel side by side rather than replacing one with the other. Communities watching the announcement suspect further changes beyond the auto-hunt system, though NCsoft has not detailed them.
