The New Denpa Men shutters on 6 December
Genius Sonority has pulled paid purchases and set a December shutdown, with refunds for unused currency and a short life for the Switch 2 port.
Genius Sonority has confirmed that The New Denpa Men will close down on 7 December 2026, ending the free-to-play RPG's run across Switch, Switch 2, and mobile devices. Paid purchases have already been switched off, so the Jewel currency and other store items can no longer be bought. The studio is urging players to spend any remaining paid Jewels before the shutdown, and unused currency looks set to qualify for a refund. Applications will need a Support ID, which can be submitted until 31 March 2027.
The timing underlines how short the game's life has been. It arrived on Switch in July 2024, reached phones about a year later in March 2025, and the Switch 2 port has been live for only around eight months. The structure followed earlier Denpa Men titles: collect the characters, build a party, explore dungeons, and fight turn-based battles, with a stamina system and spendable currency layered on top. Genius Sonority says fuller refund instructions will appear on the official site shortly. For a live-service title, that is a compressed lifespan, and the Switch 2 build in particular will have spent well under a year on sale.
