Pokemon Pokopia Halloween Event Adds Pumpkaboo, Gourgeist
Pumpkaboo's Sweet Surprises runs from October 17 to November 1 and unlocks a Gourgeist habitat.
Pokemon Pokopia is getting a limited-time Halloween event that adds Pumpkaboo and Gourgeist. Pumpkaboo's Sweet Surprises runs from 17 October to 1 November, and it asks players to use a Ditto's Transform ability, which the Pokemon learns from Zorua, to scare others and collect Candy. That Candy is spent at a temporary shop beside the Pokemon Center, where it buys nine new kinds of decoration. After the event closes, Pumpkaboo is said to stay near the center and can be moved into a habitat. Nintendo detailed the mechanics in English, while the Japanese announcement went further.
The decorations have a second purpose: arranging them into a Gourgeist habitat causes the evolved Pokemon to appear and settle in town, according to the announcement. Screenshots shared alongside it show coffins resembling Cofagrigus and balloons decorated with Pikachu and Drifloon. The event follows the recent return of the Bulbasaur Jump Rope Contest. Pokopia is a Switch 2 title, and The Pokemon Company has kept these in-game events running on a regular schedule since launch, with each one adding a small set of characters and items. No end date beyond 1 November has been given, and items collected during the window can be used later.
