T1 reaches first VALORANT Champions top eight
Straight-maps wins for LOUD and T1 completed the Shanghai playoff field, with T1 breaking new ground in its third Champions appearance.
LOUD and T1 claimed the last two places in the VALORANT Champions Shanghai 2026 playoffs on 4 October, each closing out qualification with a 2-0 sweep. LOUD beat Global Esports, taking Split 13-8 after an eight-round run on the attack and then holding firm on Sunset for 13-9. T1 followed with a straight-maps win over FUT Esports, 13-10 on both Sunset and Ascent, a series in which Ham Woo-ju stood out for the South Korean side.
The results completed an eight-team knockout field: 100 Thieves, NRG, G2 Esports, and LOUD from the Americas; Paper Rex, T1, and Nongshim RedForce from the Pacific; and Team Vitality as EMEA's lone representative. T1's berth marks its first Champions top-eight finish in three appearances. Opening matchups pit LOUD against Paper Rex and T1 against NRG, and because first-round losers drop to the lower bracket rather than exiting, every side keeps a route to the title. Shanghai's group phase had already narrowed the field to the organisations still in contention. Both winners stay in contention for the Champions title.

VALORANT
VALORANT is a round-based tactical shooter in which attackers and defenders fight over a site, and each agent brings distinct abilities. Gunplay stays precise, with abilities used to support rather than replace it.
