BLAST Slam VIII Playoff Bracket Set After Last Chance

LGD Gaming and 1W Team survived 2-1 series to complete the six-team field, which plays out in Malta from 8 to 11 October.

LGD Gaming and 1W Team claimed the final two playoff places at BLAST Slam VIII, each winning their Last Chance series 2-1 after dropping the opening map. LGD recovered against GamerLegion, while 1W came back to eliminate OG, completing the six-team field. Both sides had been second seeds from the Group Stage, with the winners advancing to the upper-bracket quarterfinals and the losers eliminated, and each series followed a similar pattern as the eventual winners regrouped after an early loss.

PARIVISION and Team Spirit took the Seeding Matches and begin one round later, in the upper-bracket semifinals. Team Yandex meet LGD Gaming and Aurora Gaming face 1W Team in the upper-bracket quarterfinals. The playoff stage runs on a double-elimination format with best-of-three matches and a best-of-five grand final, held at BLAST Arena Studios in Malta from 8 to 11 October. OG's exit means Topson misses the playoffs. The six-team bracket now sets both the remaining contenders and their opening opponents. The format means an opening loss need not end a team's run.
