Report: New Uncharted in Development at Naughty Dog
A report claims the studio's next project after Intergalactic is a brand-new Uncharted featuring Nathan Drake, though his role is unclear.
A new report suggests that a brand-new Uncharted game is in development at Naughty Dog. According to MP1st, the project will follow Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, the studio's new sci-fi IP, and it is described as a new game rather than a remake of any kind. Nathan Drake will feature in some capacity, though the report does not make clear whether he is the lead character, a supporting figure or simply a cameo. The project is reportedly being helmed by Shaun Escayg, who previously directed Uncharted: The Lost Legacy and also served as creative director on Marvel's Avengers at Crystal Dynamics.
The claim runs against what Naughty Dog has said publicly. Earlier in the week the studio noted it is working on two The Last of Us projects alongside Intergalactic, with no mention of Uncharted at all, which points to a project still very early in development. Fans have speculated about another Uncharted for years. Escayg has teased the idea himself on social media, and earlier this year he travelled to Trinidad for what he described as research, posting an image of what looked like a cannon from long ago. No release window or official confirmation has been offered so far.
