Konami gives away the original Castlevania for its 40th
The 1986 NES game is free on the App Store and Google Play as the series turns 40, with a new entry, Belmont's Curse, due in October.
Castlevania turned 40 on 26 September, and Konami marked the anniversary by giving away the original game. Akumajo Dracula, released for the NES in 1986, is free to download on the App Store and Google Play for a limited stretch.
The publisher also has a new entry in the pipeline. Castlevania: Belmont's Curse is set for 15 October 2026, part of a broader attempt to bring the series back into the spotlight after years in which it looked finished.
