Just Hoops 2.0 leans on hand tracking
The VR basketball game rebuilt its controls around controller-free play, developed over a year with player feedback and support from Meta.
Just Hoops shipped its 2.0 update this week, timed to Meta Connect, with hand tracking as the centrepiece. Developer Realcast spent about a year on the rework using player feedback, and Meta supported the effort as it pushes controller-free play with its new VR Glasses.
Improved hand tracking is the main change, along with ways to make the basketball game easier to pick up. Whether any of it reaches the Steam version is unclear; the studio had not said by the time the update was covered.
