ESO Adds Two DLCs to Base Game, Sets Season 2 Date
Elder Scrolls Online will fold two more DLC packs into the base game and launches Season 2: Echoes of Skyrim on Wednesday, October 21.
Elder Scrolls Online will move two more of its downloadable content packs into the base game, giving players access to that content without having to buy it separately. The MMORPG's monthly event calendar has also set a firm release date for Season 2: Echoes of Skyrim, which is scheduled to arrive on Wednesday, October 21. The announcement outlines some of what the new season will bring to the game when it lands later this month, and it makes the October schedule one of the fuller ones on the calendar.
As is typical for October, the game is joining the Halloween festivities too, with themed events running through the month alongside the other entries on the calendar. Moving older DLC into the base game continues a pattern of making past content more widely available, so newcomers and returning players can reach it without extra purchases. The two packs had previously been sold as separate add-ons, and folding them into the base game lowers the cost of catching up on older content. The Season 2 launch on October 21, together with the expansion of the base game, marks the next major step for the online RPG this year.
