CD Projekt spent two years on the Chimera Tank fight
The Phantom Liberty boss battle went through two years of iteration, the studio said, as it chased a spider-tank clash worth the opening act it capped.
The Chimera Tank fight that ends Phantom Liberty's opening act took CD Projekt about two years to get right. Phantom Liberty game director Gabe Amatangelo and creative director Igor Sarzynski talked through the battle on the studio's AnsweRED podcast, describing round after round of iteration on the machine.
The sequence puts V and President Myers against a spider-tank in the bowels of a Barghest facility, a clear nod to Ghost in the Shell. The pair said this kind of big, boisterous boss fight takes a lot of work, and the Chimera became their example.
