Armed Fantasia is cancelled four years after its Kickstarter
The Wild Arms spiritual successor has been dropped by its publisher, which also ended work on two other projects.
Armed Fantasia, the colourful JRPG pitched as a spiritual successor to Wild Arms and led by former Wild Arms producer Akifumi Kaneko, has been cancelled. Digital Bros, the parent company of publisher 505 Games, listed it among the titles it has decided to discontinue developing in its latest financial statement.
The game raised a large sum on Kickstarter in 2022 and then ran into delays and legal trouble, the pattern that has dogged several high-profile crowdfunding campaigns of that era. Two other Digital Bros projects are being dropped at the same time, a strategy sequel and an action RPG that had already announced its own end.
