Xbox is happy with GTA 6 pre-orders, exec says
A report that PlayStation 5 is taking the bulk of pre-orders drew a response from Xbox's chief strategy officer.
Reporting this week suggested GTA 6 pre-orders are heavily weighted towards PlayStation 5, with no figures attached. That fits the shape of this console generation, where Sony's hardware leads comfortably in most markets, but it arrived in the same week as another round of Xbox cuts, so it was read as one more data point on the division's health.
Xbox chief strategy officer Matthew Ball pushed back, saying the company is very happy with pre-orders and that its share matches its share of the console market. Rockstar's game launches in November and is expected to be the biggest entertainment release of the year.
