Ubisoft Shutting Down Rainbow Six Mobile

The free-to-play spin-off goes offline in January 2027, less than a year after its full worldwide launch on Android and iOS.

Ubisoft is closing Rainbow Six Mobile, the Android and iOS spin-off of its tactical shooter, less than a year after the game's full launch. Rainbow Six Mobile soft-launched in 2023 but only rolled out worldwide in February 2026, and it will go offline on 16 January 2027. The studio said it is proud of the team's passion, creativity and dedication, and thanked players for the memes, strategies, tournaments and impossible plays the community produced during its short run.

The developers will move on to other long-term strategic projects, though Ubisoft has not said what those are, promising more detail on the game's final days in the coming weeks. The shutdown follows a turbulent stretch for the publisher, which restructured around its Tencent partnership, cut jobs, closed studios and cancelled projects. Rainbow Six Siege, the game Mobile was modelled on, remains healthy more than a decade on, and the next entry in the series, Rainbow Six Tactics, is still slated for next year. Rainbow Six Mobile first soft-launched back in 2023, making its fully public life especially brief.
