Minion Rush shuts down in January after 13 years
Gameloft's Despicable Me endless runner leaves app stores on 30 October, with servers closing on 29 January 2027 and a farewell event through late October.
Gameloft has set an end for Minion Rush, the endless runner that arrived in 2013 and has been running ever since. Its servers close on 29 January 2027, while the game disappears from the App Store and Google Play earlier, on 30 October, leaving a few weeks for anyone who never tried it.
Built on the yellow cast of Illumination's Despicable Me films, it became one of the longest-serving examples of the genre and a long-running success for Gameloft, staying online for more than 13 years. A farewell event runs from 1 to 28 October and hands out rewards that exist only for those final weeks.
