King signs a collective agreement with Swedish unions

The Candy Crush maker reached a deal with Unionen and Sveriges Ingenjörer a week after workers voted for industrial action.

King has signed a collective agreement covering its Swedish staff with the unions Unionen and Sveriges Ingenjörer, a week after employees announced industrial action over the company's refusal to negotiate. Collective agreements are standard across most of the Swedish labour market but rare in games, which is why the dispute attracted attention across the industry.

The deal settles the immediate conflict and gives the studio's Swedish workforce a formal framework for pay and conditions. King is best known for Candy Crush and is owned by Microsoft, which has publicly supported unionisation at some of its other studios.
