Synth Riders Brings Hand Tracking to Quest 3
Kluge Interactive's rhythm game now plays without controllers on Quest 3 and 3S, timed to Meta's upcoming VR Glasses launch.
Kluge Interactive has added hand-tracking support to Synth Riders on Quest 3 and Quest 3S, letting players tackle the rhythm game without reaching for a controller. Every track in the catalogue, including paid downloadable songs, works with the new input method, and the same update introduces optional Neon Bloom visuals for Quest 3 and Steam Frame, giving the neon-soaked stages a little extra colour. The headset's outward cameras read your hands directly, so the on-screen sabres follow your palms and fingers rather than a tracked grip.
The timing is telling. Kluge frames the feature around the arrival of Meta's VR Glasses in spring 2027, a hand-tracking-first headset that drops controllers entirely. Synth Riders already shipped controller-free on Apple Vision Pro, Samsung Galaxy XR and Snap Specs, so this extends an approach the studio has been building for several years. Quest 2 and Quest Pro owners stay on controllers, since the update is limited to the newer headsets in the family. Meta's newer devices have pushed hand tracking as a headline feature, and studios are increasingly building around it.
