Steam's tidy-up genre gets a body-horror twist
Something is Wrong With the Library keeps the organising-books premise but adds fleshy psychic manifestations and corpses in the walls.
Steam's run of cheerful tidying-up games is about to take a darker turn. Something is Wrong With the Library keeps the organising-books premise but adds psychic manifestations made of flesh, set in a building whose walls are stuffed with corpses. You play Phillip Shed, the library's former administrator, who has one night to sort the shelves and face the consequences.
The game can be wishlisted now and is due later this autumn. Its hook is that it pairs its chores with an actual, deeply unpleasant story, including something called The Drowning Room. Studio head Xalavier Nelson Jr, previously a librarian and the lead developer on CLICKOLDING, says he hopes players still come away loving their local library a little more.
