EmberQuest, a Cozy Lite MMO, Launches October 15
Faded Scroll Games' solo-developed sandbox MMO brings physics-driven combat, capped servers and an optional subscription to Steam.
Faded Scroll Games has dated EmberQuest for a Steam launch on Thursday, October 15. The solo-developed project describes itself as a cozy lite MMO, aiming to blend sandbox-style systems with an approachable structure. Its feature set includes questing, open-world PvP zones and events, world bosses, gathering tradeskills and PvE activities, an attempt to reach sandbox fans while staying a more approachable sort of experience.
Combat is physics-driven and active, with positioning, deflecting and pushing all mattering across four classes. Servers are capped at 100 players to keep what the developer calls a small-town atmosphere where names become familiar. EmberQuest will be free-to-play, with an optional subscription for extras such as bank sorting and filtering, expanded action bars and bank space, and spin tokens earned through quests that can be spent on random cosmetics. The announcement drew immediate pushback in the game's Reddit thread, where players questioned gating convenience features behind a paid tier. It was previously available as a blockchain game, though the Steam build appears to have those elements removed.
