Silent Hill: Townfall Patch 1.4.0 Nerfs The Weight

Konami's update tames the stalker enemy's instant-kill attack, softens its camping behaviour and tidies up the final puzzle.

Silent Hill: Townfall's patch 1.4.0 has gone live, and it takes direct aim at The Weight, the stalker enemy many players found the game's most punishing element. The monster no longer camps outside objectives for extended stretches, its tracking is less aggressive, and it has stopped repeatedly searching the same area. Crucially, on Story and Normal difficulties, The Weight now deals heavy damage instead of an outright instant kill, giving players a genuine chance to escape its grip. The studio had publicly promised to revisit what many considered the game's worst and most punishing encounter.

The update also lowers enemy sensitivity to sound, grants more reaction time after escaping a grapple, and stops ordinary enemies from grabbing a player who is already blocking with a melee weapon. Konami added a hint to the game's final puzzle along with a manual for the Remote Systems Control, fixed some graphical faults, and improved frame pacing on PS5. Missing key bindings for AZERTY keyboards are addressed too, with the full list posted on Konami's website.
