Halo 2 and 3 remakes were among the projects cut
Leaked details suggest several Halo projects were in development before the restructuring, including two remakes and a seventh mainline entry.
Halo Studios is being rebuilt around a smaller team after Microsoft moved the franchise to Activision and cut the studio down sharply. Leaks now describe what was on the table beforehand: remakes of Halo 2 and Halo 3, plus the next mainline entry, referred to as Halo 7, which was to include large-scale modes.
All of it has reportedly been shelved. The picture matches earlier reporting that the next Halo is being treated as a franchise reboot rather than a continuation, with the existing story and cast set aside under new leadership. None of it is confirmed by Microsoft.
