EA FC 27 ground passes are misfiring, players report

EA FC 27's launch has brought the usual run of bugs, and the one drawing the most complaints sits in its ground passing. A player on the EA Forums raised it during early access: press the ground pass button and the ball climbs into the air instead of travelling along the turf, while a standing player sometimes refuses to move at all.
That poster puts the failure at roughly 80 percent of attempts in Ultimate Team Live Events and at every attempt in training, with Squad Battles mostly behaving. Other forum users have echoed the report, and once two different controllers had failed to help, EA picked it up and marked it Under Investigation. The suggested workaround is building a fresh custom controller preset, though the bug can return and demand another.
