Disgaea studio head says Sony may be hearing disc backlash
Nippon Ichi Software's chief suggests the console maker is collecting developer feedback on its discless plans, and that the discussion may change.
Sony's long goodbye to physical media has produced months of no-disc-no-buy comments under nearly everything the company posts. According to the head of Disgaea studio Nippon Ichi Software, the pushback may be registering: he says Sony is hearing fans, and that the discussion may change.
PlayStation has reportedly been surveying developers about discs, which reads as an attempt to measure the mood before committing to a plan that would end physical releases past 2028. The company itself has stayed quiet on the subject in public.
