Diablo 4 seasons will outlive Diablo 5, Blizzard confirms
Blizzard's game director says seasonal support for Diablo 4 will run for as long as players keep turning up, even with Diablo 5 on the way.
Blizzard has said seasonal updates for Diablo 4 will keep coming after Diablo 5 arrives. Game director Brent Gibson told Icy Veins that the team plans to support seasons for as long as the community keeps showing up, pointing to the long-running seasonal structures still in place for Diablo 2 and Diablo 3 as the model.
Diablo 5 was unveiled at BlizzCon 2026 and is positioned as the darkest entry in the series since the original. Because it now holds the Diablo team's attention, Blizzard has already ruled out further expansion packs for Diablo 4, though its seasons have grown hefty, with season 15 rebuilding parts of older campaigns, and they will apparently carry on in some form.
