What Double Eleven is

Double Eleven is a British games developer and publisher based in Middlesbrough, England. The studio's own Our World page states that Double Eleven was founded in 2009 in the Northeast and describes it as a full-service game developer and publisher. That page lists the company's headline figures: 440 employees, more than 20 different titles worked on, 30 nationalities in the team, 15 years of experience, two studio locations and three Best Place to Work awards.

The contact page gives the UK address as Double Eleven Limited, Boho X, Gosford Street, Middlesbrough, TS2 1BB, and names a second location in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, registered as Double Eleven Malaysia Sdn Bhd. Double Eleven's site describes the company as 100 per cent independent and sets out values of integrity, humanity and ambition, with gender pay gap reports published for 2023, 2024 and 2025.

Growth and studio locations

A Double Eleven news post dated 21 March 2024 announced the completion of Boho X, the studio's new headquarters in Middlesbrough, a seven-storey building the company occupies alone. In that release the studio's then chief financial officer, Kimberley Turner, states that the company grew from just over 100 employees to nearly 400 within the previous three years, with most of the workforce based in the centre of Middlesbrough.

A second post dated 6 June 2024 marks the arrival of the studio's 400th employee, a QA lead joining the Kuala Lumpur office. That post states the Malaysia studio started in early 2020 and had grown to 79 employees, and that Double Eleven employed 91 people globally four years earlier. The Malaysia office was announced in January 2020, and the studio said the Kuala Lumpur home was officially open in May 2022.

Ownership and leadership

A news post dated 9 October 2025 announced that Kimberley Turner, previously chief financial officer and commercial director, and Mark South, previously chief operating officer, were appointed co-CEOs. The same release states that founder and former CEO Lee Hutchinson moved into the role of chairman of Pneuma Group, described there as the parent company of Double Eleven, and that he is based in Malaysia.

The release credits Hutchinson with leading the studio for over 15 years and notes the introduction of a new senior leadership team and project directors. Double Eleven's own pages continue to present the business as independent and frame it around a people-first profit philosophy, while the studio publishes employment and gender pay gap reporting from its site footer alongside its terms and privacy pages.

Working with partners

Double Eleven's development page describes work on existing games rather than only new releases, stating that the studio designs, delivers and maintains content for players of games built with other studios. The page says the studio self-publishes at least one console title and has published others on PC, console and mobile, and that it builds and supports communities around the titles it publishes.

The same page explains how the studio integrates with partners: its teams are used to working as a remotely integrated part of a partner's team and to contributing to marketing and development updates. Double Eleven names systems development and live-service support as in-house disciplines, and says its live support team keeps some games running for hundreds of thousands of players.

Minecraft Dungeons II

Minecraft Dungeons II is the studio's listed co-development project with Mojang Studios. The game's Microsoft Store listing, which Xbox Game Studios publishes on its own platform, credits Mojang Studios and Double Eleven Limited under developed by, and names Xbox Game Studios as publisher. Minecraft's own game page for the title states that Minecraft Dungeons II releases on 29 September 2026 on Steam, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.

Xbox Wire describes the game's new dimension, the Sift, as Minecraft's first new dimension in over 14 years, introduced in Minecraft Dungeons II and set to arrive in Minecraft itself in 2027. Mojang's FAQ page for the game confirms that Minecraft Dungeons II and Minecraft Dungeons 2 are the same game, and states that the sequel expands on the weapons, enemies and features of the first title.
