WoW Forever Reveals PvP Ranks and Skyborne Model Changes

Blizzard splits PvP into Honor and Rank Points, adds a Darkspear Islands battleground, and reworks Skyborne models toward 2004.

Blizzard has detailed how player-versus-player progression will work in World of Warcraft: Forever. The system splits into Honor, a currency earned across PvP activities, and Rank Points gathered from battlegrounds and certain quests, feeding titles such as Grand Marshal or High Warlord. A new capture-and-hold battleground, Battle for the Darkspear Islands, carries two reputation tracks for the Darkspear Raiders and the Theramore Expeditionary Force, unlocking armor, weapons and tabards as those reputations level up.

Ranks carry a weekly cap, and each season adds a journey of weekly tasks that award Honor and Rank Points, with three tasks per season also granting a Legacy Point. That structure has prompted pushback from players wary of mandatory weekly checkboxes, though Blizzard frames it as a simplification of the original Honor System, keeping its approachable roots intact. Some veterans would rather see a flat cost in Honor and rank than another recurring commitment. The studio is also revising Skyborne models, taking their look back toward the 2004 aesthetic to make them less jarring to view. World of Warcraft: Forever launches on November 4.
