Lazare's Sacrifice: a French Revolution deckbuilder

Curve Games and Dream Reality Interactive announce a card game about surviving revolutionary Paris, made with Gwent's original designer.

Curve Games and developer Dream Reality Interactive have announced Lazare's Sacrifice, a narrative deckbuilder set during the height of the French Revolution. The hook is a simple one: keep your head. Players build and play cards to navigate the politics and paranoia of a country tearing itself apart, with the guillotine never far from the story and every decision carrying the risk of a fatal misstep. The setting turns revolutionary Paris into a board of shifting alliances, where the wrong card at the wrong moment can end the run.

The project is being made in collaboration with Damien Monnier, the designer behind the original Gwent and its standalone card game. It surfaced during the Triple-I Initiative showcase, where a short trailer introduced the revolutionary setting and its deck-driven take on survival. Lazare's Sacrifice is confirmed for PC, with no release window beyond the announcement. Rock Paper Shotgun noted the parallel to Gwent's own origins as a card game grown inside a larger role-playing title, and suggested the new project carries that same DNA into a very different era.
